Beth
Heather
Heather joined our team in December 2013 as a receptionist. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts from Becker College. In addition to being a supervisor and receptionist, Heather takes care of the staff schedule and website upkeep. Heather has a passion for music, and has become the office DJ. She lives with her husband and their cat Alfie. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and music and movie trivia.
Courtny
Courtny has been working at Beckett and Associates since the fall of 2007. She has worn (and continues to wear) almost every hat in our hospital: receptionist, kennel assistant, anesthesia tech and large animal assistant. Courtny loves her multiple roles here at Beckett and Associates she says that every day she learns something new. In her spare time, she loves to ride horses, spend time with her dog Layla, Fiancé and their son Luca.
Kayla
Kayla graduated University of Rhode Island with a Bachelors of Animal Science degree, as well as an Associates of Veterinary Technology from Middlesex Community College. She took the VTNE and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Kayla has been with Beckett & Associates since December 2016. In June 2022 Kayla opened up a rehabilitation department called Little Paws Rehabilitation LLC located in the lower level at Beckett & Associates. When Kayla’s not working you can find her snuggling her dog Moose.
Kelley
Julie
Julie joined our team in the Fall of 2017. She began working in the veterinary field in 2004 while living in Tennessee. Julie is our Certified Pet Nutrition Coach and is very knowledgeable about pet insurance. You will find Julie at our front desk making sure every patient feels at home; often giving them cute nicknames.In her spare time Julie enjoys going on adventures with her husband and two children.
Emily
Emily is currently an undergraduate at the University of Connecticut (UConn) as an Animal Science major. She have recently started at Beckett & Associates to further her education and experience within the field of veterinary medicine. When Emily is not working or studying you can find her snuggling with her two dogs Harley and Bella, cat Lakiyah and Guinea pig Theo. Emily also loves crafting with her newfound hobby for crocheting.
Jillian
Jillian joined the team as a veterinary assistant in 2022. In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (with a canine concentration) from SUNY Cobleskill, Jill has extensive experience in canine behavior and training. She grew up working with and running sled dogs, traveling to France and Canada as well as across the US handling and racing. When she’s not working with animals, you can find Jill on the field playing soccer for a New York semi-professional league as a goal keeper.
Jodie
Jodie interned with Beckett and Associates the summer of 2015 while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree. After earning her B.S. in Equine studies from the University of New Hampshire, she began her career with us in May of 2016. She continued on to become a certified veterinary technician in April 2022. Jodie is one of our senior surgery technicians. She also manages our in-house laboratory. When she is not at work, Jodie spends her time outside going rock hounding, hiking, and spending time with her animals.
Marie
Marie started with us in September of 2021. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in music from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Marie previously worked in small animal emergency, but she has a soft spot for large animals, so she is happy to be in a place where she gets to see all types of species. Marie is a born-and-raised Virginian and recently moved to CT. In her free time, Marie enjoys singing and playing guitar, working on the land, and petting the many animals where she lives, large and small alike.
Raimo
Raimo joined our staff this year in June as an assistant. He moved to the United States last year and prior to that, was living in Finland. He grew up in Lappajarvi Finland and has spent his entire life working with animals. Raimo attended veterinary college in Helsinki and worked at several veterinary clinics in Finland. He has bred Spanish Water dogs for the past 21 years and continues to show and breed with his wife here in Portland, CT. Raimo is a great asset to our clinic and is always willing and able to fix anything that breaks and reach supplies in high places.
Sara
Sara joined our team in April of 2021. She earned her Bahelor’s degree in Biology at CCSU, where she also minored in chemistry and English. She enjoys academics and is currently pursuing a degree in Veterinary Technology. Being a part of the field of veterinary medicine has always been a dream for her, and she is so excited to be starting her career with the Beckett & Associates family. Sara has always had a passion for animals, but horses have a special place in her heart. When she’s not studying or working, she enjoys riding horses, spending time with her cat Sampson, caring for her many house plants, and admiring the small world inside her aquarium.
Stephanie
Stephanie recently joined the Beckett team in October 2019. She has always had a pasion for helping and taking care of animals of all shapes and sizes. She studied Animal Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is looking forward to continuing her education with the Beckett family. When shes not working Stephanie loves to watch movies, go hiking, and spend time with her family and four dogs, Ruby, Cookie, Bella, and Lolo.
Taylor
Taylor adores animals of every shape and size, but has a special interest in exotics and the “creepy crawlies.” She has a pet snake and a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach!
In her free time, Taylor loves spending time with family, reading, and volunteering at Riverside Reptiles Education Center
